Cherry Creek Time Trial - Race #1 2007

The Cherry Creek Time Trial series started today. Map of Race Course. It was cold April afternoon with a temperature of 45 degrees, and winds of 10-15 mph. I was excited and went a little to hard from the start, so I didn't have anything left for the finish and bonked with about 2 miles to go. Overall I finished 37th out of 57 people in the Category 4 race group at 28minutes 21 seconds (winner in at 23min 06sec, WOW that is fast). This was my worst ever time in the Cherry Creek Time Trial. I guess I probably shouldn't have given blood last Wednesday....but more likely I need a lot more time on the bike. Dugan had a great day though with a time of 26min 03sec which landed him at 21st in the Category 3 race group.
Here are my stats from the race:
Temp: 45 degrees
Altitude: 5446
Lap Time: 28min 31sec
Distance: 10.5 miles
Avg Speed: 21.8 mph
Max Speed: 28.8 mph
Cadence Avg: 77 rpm
Cadence Max: 91 rpm
Avg Min/mile: 2.44
HR Max: 193 bpm
HR Avg: 182 bpm

It is supposed to snow 6-12 inches in Denver over the next 48 hrs. I guess I will have to do some indoor training.
Stay tuned for next weeks results.
